We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Engineer to join our dynamic and growing team. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our data pipelines and infrastructure to ensure efficient and reliable data processing. We are looking to research and build a modeling platform that uses a variety of data sources to measure, report, and verify the product claims of sustainability, carbon sequestration, and ethical labor practices.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and design data ingestion pipelines for our Data Lake platform.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists to train and refine AI models.
• Develop and model information architecture and database schemas.
• Build automation tools to normalize and cleanse data from various sources.
• Design, build, and maintain our data infrastructure and pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable data processing.
• Implement ETL (extract, transform, load) processes to ingest and transform data from various sources and systems.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to define data requirements and ensure data quality and accuracy.
• Optimize data models and database performance to support fast data retrieval and analysis.
• Implement and maintain data security and compliance measures to protect sensitive data.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest data technologies and industry best practices to continuously improve our data infrastructure and pipelines.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 3+ years of professional experience in data engineering, ETL, or related field.
• 3+ years experience with Document DBs (e.g. MongoDB, RavenDB, Cosmos)
• 3+ years experience with SQL Database technologies (e.g. MS SQLServer)
• 3+ years experience with Data Lake technologies (e.g. Azure Data Lake, Snowflake)
• Experience with Tableau or other Data Visualization tools
• Python experience is a plus.
• Strong experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Flink, and database technologies such as SQL, NoSQL, and graph databases.
• Strong experience with ETL tools such as Apache Nifi, Airflow, or Talend.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Strong understanding of data security and compliance measures.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
